This study developed a self-healing, anti-corrosive coating based on novel nanocomposite formulation of 8-hydroxyquinoline-5-sulfonic acid-zinc doped polyaniline (HQZn-PA) incorporated into an epoxy matrix. The chemical composition and surface morphology the synthesized were thoroughly characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, nuclear magnetic resonance, scanning electron microscopy. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy potentiodynamic polarization tests confirmed outstanding corrosion resistance self-healing efficiency coating. HQZn-PA demonstrates enhanced anticorrosive properties through synergistic effects its constituents. Polyaniline (PA) contributes anodic protection forms barrier layer, while chelation zinc by acid (HQZn) improves PA compatibility within polymer matrix functions as organic inhibitor. dual action strengthens both cathodic mechanisms. reduced rate 450× compared maintained modulus 1.03 × 1010 Ω cm2 after 40 days in saline environment. also demonstrated 99.28% scratched coatings. These results highlight potential highly effective inhibitor agent for long-term metal harsh environments.
