Abstract
In
recent
years,
there
has
been
a
growing
interest
in
understanding
the
function
of
claustrum.
The
claustrum
is
thin,
long,
subcortical
structure
with
dense
connections
to
cortex.
Despite
these
extensive
connections,
manner
which
influences
broader
cortical
activity
remains
unclear.
We
used
mesoscale
calcium
fluorescence
imaging
examine
resting
state
(1-5Hz)
and
sensory-evoked
responses
lightly
anesthetized
mice,
before
after
bi-directional
chemogenetic
modulation
claustrum-prefrontal
neurons.
Claustrum
inhibition
resulted
increased
anterior-medial
areas,
whereas
excitation
decreased
regions.

Abstract
The
claustrum
has
been
linked
to
attention
and
sleep.
We
hypothesized
that
this
reflects
a
shared
function,
determining
responsiveness
stimuli,
which
spans
the
axis
of
engagement.

test
hypothesis,
we
recorded

dynamics
from
male
mice
during
both
sleep

attentional
task
(‘ENGAGE’).

organization

rodent
claustrum
remains
obscure
due

borders

distinguish
it
from
neighboring
forebrain
structures.
Defining
what
constitutes

transgenic

Abstract
The
claustrum
(CLA)
is
a
brain
nucleus
located
between
the
insula
and
lateral
striatum,
implicated
in
wide
range
of
behaviors.
Underpinning
different
behavioral
phenotypes
connectivity
