Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) is a synthetic biopolymer widely recognized for its biodegradability, biocompatibility, and excellent film-forming properties. Recent advancements in PVA-based materials have expanded use diverse fields, including packaging, biomedicine, wastewater treatment. This review offers comprehensive analysis of the latest innovations PVA applications, emphasizing their role as sustainable material, particularly through development nanocomposites. The addition nanoparticles, cross-linking agents, combinations has significantly enhanced mechanical strength, antibacterial properties, UV-blocking capacity PVA, making it well-suited advanced packaging biomedical applications.
