Abstract In recent years, the emphasis on computational thinking (CT) has intensified as an effect of accelerated digitalisation. While most researchers are concentrating defining CT and developing tools for its instruction assessment, we focus characteristics problems (CTPs)- activities requiring to be solved-and how they influence skills students can develop. this paper, present a comprehensive framework systematically profiling CTPs by identifying specific components characteristics, while establishing link between these attributes structured catalogue competencies. The purposes (i) facilitating analysis existing identify which abilities developed or measured based their inherent (ii) guiding design new targeted at outlining necessary required activation. To illustrate functionalities, begin analysing prototypical in literature, process that leads definition taxonomy across various domains, conclude with case study different version one activities, Cross Array Task (CAT), set cognitive environments. This approach allows understanding contexts display unique recurring promote development distinct skills. conclusion, inform assessment tools, improve teacher training, facilitate comparison contributing deeper competency activation curriculum education.
