In circular economies, it is imperative to implement effective environmental management solutions address resource depletion. Over the past few years, there has been a growing recognition of potential agricultural crop waste in mitigating greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and promoting global carbon neutrality. Despite lacking practical options, open-field burning residue contributes significantly air pollution. This challenge may be addressed by producing biochar through pyrolysis residues. A application agriculture can contribute reducing warming sequestration atmospheric from soil. As part life cycle assessment biochar, yield during its production are critical factors, which emphasize importance selecting method suitable for biochar. The objective this paper present comprehensive overview agronomic advantages associated with along detailed analysis (LCA). Furthermore, provides an how facilitate local energy sustainable within nexus agroecosystems, environment, energy.

Carbon capture and utilization (CCU) is an emerging technology with commercial potential to convert atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) into net zero or negative emission products. In microalgae-based CCU, microalgae utilize CO2 sunlight generate biomass for applications. This paper reviews the current state of microalgal culture development CCU highlights its contribution addressing climate change challenges. Current systems have not been designed high throughput growth capture. Raceways, high-rate algal ponds, photobioreactors are most widely used cultivation at a large-scale. The limitations these related requirements. Ponds operated narrow depth ensure sufficient light distribution thus need large land surface. gas needs be in dissolved form efficient by microalgae. Innovative system designs achieve optimized light, nutrient, enhanced production crucial large-scale Data corroborated this review several innovative techniques deliver effectively enhance illumination cells. Submerged internal illuminations can without compromising volume delivery technique selections mainly depend on sources. carbonation column appears best option regarding efficiency, easy operation, simple design. downstream processes (i.e. harvesting, utilization, water reuse) important make significant global mitigation solutions.

Used COVID-19 masks produce a large amount of garbage that frequently overwhelms waste management facilities, hence they are disposed improperly. It is imperative to develop processing technique harnesses disposable face create biofuel in order address the environmental problems caused by their disposal. In this study, biochar production through co-carbonization mask and biomass (Daniella oliveri leaves) using fixed-bed updraft reactor was investigated as means recycling wastes for sustainable environment. A hybrid with 40.20 wt% yield produced at peak temperature 350 °C, while 32.87 only high 279 °C. According sample analysis, biochar, which has specific surface area 397.8 m2/g, very porous numerous cracks fissures. The Fourier transform infrared analysis showed presence functional groups, mainly hydroxyl carbonyl co-carbonized mask, indicating possibility an adsorbent increase soil fertility.
