Catalysts played a crucial role in advancing modern human civilization, from ancient times to the industrial revolution. Due high cost and limited availability of traditional catalysts, there is need develop cost-effective, high-activity, nonprecious metal-based electrocatalysts. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have emerged as an ideal candidate for heterogeneous catalysis due their physicochemical properties, hybrid inorganic/organic structures, uncoordinated metal sites, accessible organic sections. MOFs are nanoporous crystalline materials that can be used catalysts facilitate polymerization reactions. Their chemical structural diversity make them effective various reactions compared catalysts. been applied gas storage separation, ion-exchange, drug delivery, luminescence, sensing, nanofilters, water purification, catalysis. The review focuses on MOF-enabled value-added compound production, including alcohol oxidation, olefin oligomerization, offer tunable porosity, spatial density, single-crystal XRD control over catalyst properties. In this review, were focused CO2 fixation, reduction, photoelectrochemical splitting. Overall, great potential versatile diverse applications future.

Over the past few decades, there has been a significant increase in population and unsustainable urbanization, resulting exploitation of water energy resources on large scale. This led to rise demand for freshwater, which, turn, caused pollution due improper disposal wastewater from various sources such as industries, agriculture, households. The industries often contains toxic heavy metals harmful emerging contaminants (ECs), which can harm living beings cannot biodegrade. Hence, it is severe issue that needs be addressed. To combat this problem, treatments are necessary two main reasons: firstly, recycle reuse meet future human reduce scarcity, secondly, ensure compliance with discharge standards environmental sustainability while minimizing groundwater soil contamination. In review, several treatment technologies comprising physical, chemical, biological methods have discussed critically. state-of-the-art discussion different existing techniques their limitations deliberated. In this study, a novel approach that combines photoinduced electron transfer (ET) with hydrogen atom (HAT) has been introduced for the selective β-C(sp3)–H pyridination of carbonyl compounds. This method is notable its absence transition metals and ability to function under benign reaction conditions, resulting in range pyridinated derivatives consistently moderate good yields.
