Microplastic pollution has become pervasive. Identifying a bioindicator species to track the occurrence and effects of microplastics (MPs) on ecosystems is crucial for determining their impact environment. The digestive tract Procambarus clarkii was thought be interest investigating MPs accumulation in freshwater organisms. Abstract Microplastics (MPs) are contaminants that damage lake ecosystems by enriching pollutants. This study investigated the current state of MPs in lakes using bibliometric method and correlation analysis. The results show abundance is negatively correlated with depth area distance to populated areas, positively surrounding population density. main factors influencing MP were human activities, including pollution diffusion waste generation from agricultural, industrial, domestic activities. prevalent water systems vary type shape. Moreover, vertically distributed lakes, resulting high concentrations sediments. Information on microplastic pollution in lentic systems is scarce many Asian countries, including Vietnam. This study investigated the status and characteristics of seven urban lakes Da Nang City, The two surveys were conducted during dry wet seasons. results showed that concentrations surface waters ranged from 293.3 ± 23.1–6510.0 380.4 366.7 23.1–1143.3 110.2 items m−3 seasons, respectively, which considered a moderate abundance level globally. predominance fibers remarkable microplastics feature all surveyed lakes, most primarily polypropylene (PP) polyethylene terephthalate (PET) <2000 μm length. ecological risk assessment based load index (PLI) potential (PERI) demonstrated excepting Ham Nghi Lake approached high season, both seasons remained minor.
