Soil environmental protection has become a pressing issue for sustainable development. This study collected 153 topsoil samples from typical agricultural area to evaluate the contamination characteristics of heavy metal(loid)s (HMs), identify their potential sources, and assess associated ecological human health risks. The results showed that mean concentration HMs was in order Zn > Cr Ni Pb Cu As Cd Hg; all were below background levels, except Cd. geo-accumulation index (Igeo) improved Nemerow (INI) revealed overall pollution level considered as no or slight contamination, while posed low risk according hazard factor (Ei) (PERI). In addition, three main sources identified through positive matrix factorization (PMF) model: natural source (48.2%; contributed As, Ni, Cu, Pb, Zn), coal burning waste disposal (24%; Hg Cd), activities (27.8%; Cr). Recently, one of the major environmental issues is pollution soil with Antimony (Sb), which ecologically detrimental and potentially carcinogenic to humans. In developing countries such as Iran, Sb concentrations in soils have not yet been accurately determined. Therefore, purpose this study was examine levels other HMs (Pb, Cd, As, Ni, Hg Cr) surface Bojnourd, well their distribution potential risks environment human health. A total 37 samples (0–20 cm) were taken from different sampling stations: 900 × m regular grid for traffic areas (TA), residential (RA) suburb (SA). The contamination factor (CF) geo-accumulation index (Igeo) are two indices that used reflect ecological risk HMs. Geographic information system (GIS), Spearman correlation matrix health indexes utilized investigate source hazard results showed average concentration TA highly enriched compared areas. Most identified low Ni pollution, while having moderate high Pb, Cr, Cd determined by (Igeo CF). Potentially toxic elements (PTEs) are an important type of pollutant, causing constant and far-reaching concerns around the world due to their increase in mining process. Bentonite formed by alteration glass-rich volcanic rocks is a smectite clay consisting mostly montmorillonite. mineral used wide range applications many fields such as oil gas, agriculture, food, pharmacological, cosmetic, construction industries its unique qualities. Given widespread distribution bentonite nature use variety consumer products, it inevitable that general population will be exposed PTEs contained bentonites. In this study, concentrations 69 samples collected from quarries located different geographical regions Turkey were analyzed energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometric method. The average Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Zr, Pb found 3510, 95, 129, 741, 30,569, 67, 168, 25, 62, 9, 173, 28 mg/kg dry weight, respectively. Results enrichment factor relating Earth's crust indicated moderate with significant Co As.

Minimizing arsenic (74.92As33) loading into rice plants, we suggest adopting alternating wetting and drying (AWD) irrigation as a sustainable water management strategy allowing greater silicon (28.08Si14) availability. This two-year field-based project is the first report on AWD's impact As-Si distribution in fluvio-alluvial soils of entire Ganga valley (24 study sites divided six Gangetic divisions), seasonal variance (pre-monsoon monsoon), plant anatomy productivity, soil microbial diversity, gene ontology profiling, cellular metabolic pathways. Under AWD to flooded pre-monsoon monsoon cultivations, respectively, As bioavailability was reduced by 8.71–9.25% 25.68–26.13%. In seasons, grain yield under improved 8.41% 9.96%, respectively proving economic profitability. Compared waterlogging, proves be optimal condition for supporting communities fields, diverse activities, As-resistance, active expression As-responsive genes products. Finally, it determined that using AWD, use groundwater can reduced, lowering cost pumping field generating an profit farmers. These combined assessments prove acceptability establishment multiple development goals (SDGs).

Potentially toxic element (PTE) pollution as a result of industrial activities remains global problem that poses serious threats to human and ecological health. PTEs (Al, Fe, Ti, Mn, V, Zn, Cu, Cr, Ni, Pb, Co, As) are metals or metalloids with biological toxicity. This study analyzed the concentrations these physicochemical properties topsoil samples collected from areas near districts in Samsun province Turkey evaluate health risks, estimating various indexes. The average Al, As 23 by energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry were found 93,822, 82,410, 6623, 1642, 406, 278, 207, 149, 78, 68, 32, 10 mg/kg dry weight, respectively. Co levels exceed maximum contaminant Turkish Regulation on Control Soil Pollution. pH values, organic matter, total carbon, nitrogen measured soil 7.14, 6.11, 0.96, 0.04%, evaluation reveals studied area is polluted As, which may pose risk people living settlements district.
