Riverbank filtration (RBF) is an important part of the surface water–groundwater cycle, and it intercepts retains many pollutants in rivers. However, RBF affects biogeochemical process which enables aquifer sediments to release iron (Fe) manganese (Mn). In this study, column experiments were performed investigate effects ammonium ions organic matter on Fe Mn from anaerobic sediments. addition, high-throughput sequencing technology was used characterize microbial community. The results showed that (NH4+) (COD) groundwater promote trends similar during leaching process. maximum concentrations 0.32 40 μg/L, respectively. structural diversity abundance communities closely related Fe/Mn content. Actinobacteriota, Proteobacteria, Acidobacteriota, Bacteroidota, Chloroflexi dominant phyla, while Rhodococcus, Ochrobactrum, Pseudarthrobacter genera. These functional microbes are actively involved cycling Fe, Mn, N. summary, contaminants microbial-community structure have dual aquifers.
