By assessing the changes in stable isotope compositions within individual pesticide molecules, Compound Specific Isotope Analysis (CSIA) holds potential to identify and differentiate sources quantify degradation environment. However, environmental application of CSIA is limited by general lack knowledge regarding initial isotopic composition active substances commercially available formulations used farmers. To address this limitation, we established a database aimed at cataloguing disseminating signatures commercial expand use CSIA. Our study involved collection 25 analytical standards 120 from 23 manufacturers. Subsequently, 59 were extracted, each their substance was analyzed for both δ

Multi-element compound-specific stable isotope analysis (ME-CSIA) allows monitoring the environmental behavior and transformation of most common persistent contaminants. Recent advancements in analytical techniques have extended applicability ME-CSIA to organic micropollutants, including pesticides. Nevertheless, application this methodology remains unexplored concerning harmful insecticides such as methoxychlor, a polar organochlorine pesticide usually detected soil groundwater. This study introduces methods for dual carbon chlorine (δ

Galaxolide, a synthetic musk widely used in commercial products, including sanitation products and personal care poses environmental risks. Its sources transformation pathways aquatic environments remain poorly understood. Compound-specific isotope analysis (CSIA) offers promising method to trace the origin of organic micropollutants by analyzing their individual isotopic signatures natural abundance. While CSIA has been applied various contaminants, its use with containing persistent pollutants is less explored. This study investigated potential for galaxolide elucidate both abiotic biotic transformations products. Batch experiments simulating photodegradation under UVC light biodegradation strain Priestia sp. MM20 medium revealed no significant fractionation (Δ13C < 0.5‰). Despite wide variation concentrations some exceeding 15 g L–1, δ13C values alone did not allow discrimination between origins. Further research necessary evaluate how processes, biotic, could affect stable composition other musks.

Abstract The use of pesticides in viticulture may play a crucial role ensuring the health and quality grapes. This review analyzes most common used, illustrating their classification toxicity, variations throughout winemaking process. Fungicides are generally harmless or mildly toxic, whereas insecticides classified as either highly moderately hazardous. Potential alternatives to synthetic wine production also reviewed, thereby including biopesticides biological agents. Analytical methods for detecting quantifying pesticide residues then described, liquid chromatography gas coupled with mass spectrometry. discusses impact process on content.
