Hydraulic retention time (HRT) is a significant operational parameter of denitrifying filter (DF). The influence HRT on the performance and mechanism advanced synergistic nitrogen removal (ASNR) partial-denitrification anammox (PDA) denitrification was investigated, consuming hydrolytic oxidation products refractory organics in secondary effluent (SE) as carbon source. When 8, 6, 4 2 h, filtered total (TN) 1.47, 3.47, 4.17 4.49 mg/L, CODcr 8.12, 9.95, 9.40 9.87 respectively. Removing 1 mg TN actually consumed 0.87~0.96 CODcr, contribution rate PDA to 62.10%~70.02%.
