A novel thiazole-based heterocyclic Schiff base (TSB) was designed and synthesised. The synthesised structurally characterised by using fluorescence, FT-IR 1H NMR. After structural characterisation, the sensing properties of TSB were investigated towards different metal ions such as Cr3+, Hg2+, Cu2+, Cd2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Zn2+, Ag+, Mg2+, Ca2+, Li+, Na+, K+. significant fluorescence enhancement observed in emission at 584 nm upon interaction with Cu2+ compared to other due formation TSB-Cu2+ complex. 2:1 binding mode between confirmed Job`s plot spectroscopy. limit detection (LOD) calculated be 0.0051 ppm (0.081 µM). chemosensor effectively detected various environmental samples, demonstrating high recovery rates ranging from 88.0 ± 0.35% 107.0 0.47%. antibacterial activity its complex also evaluated against bacterial strain. results showed that exhibited good activity, highest zone inhibition reaching 13.54 0.35 nm. In contrast, consistently demonstrated improved recorded 15.38 0.72
