Parenting style patterns and their longitudinal impact on mental health in abused and nonabused adolescents

Background
While
the
impact
of
parenting
styles
on
adolescents’
mental
health
is
well
documented,
no
study
has
used
latent
person-oriented
methods
to
analyze
effects
style
trajectories,
experienced
by
physically
abused
and
nonabused
adolescents
from
early
middle
adolescence,
outcomes.
Method
In
this
longitudinal
study,
we
transition
analysis
(LTA)
detect
patterns
their
trajectories
among
1,709
44
high
schools
in
Switzerland
across
three
data
waves
(2021-2023)
applying
a
multigroup
comparison
between
adolescents.

Introduction
Non-suicidal
self-injury
is
a
serious
health
problem
among
adolescents.
However,
the
association
between
parent–child
conflict
and
adolescent
non-suicidal
