Abstract Greenwashing has become an important strategy for enterprises to cope with the intense pressure on environmental sustainability and gain legitimacy. Digital transformation impact enterprise decision‐making management. Based panel data of Chinese A‐share listed from 2011 2021, we empirically examine relationship between digital greenwashing using a fixed‐effects model. The results show that can significantly inhibit behavior. Second, exhibits heterogeneous effects at regional, industry, firm levels. The energy sector’s digital evolution is a critical micro-reflection of the economy’s architecture and an essential tactical pathway for achieving sustainable development goals. However, value change in regard to how effectively firms’ core business functions not yet apparent. This research utilizes textual analysis quantify intensity enterprises’ digitization. Applying data gathered from A-share listed firms Shanghai Shenzhen 2010 2021 based upon fixed-effects panel model mediated effects model, we assess impact digitization on performance evaluate themes’ variability geographical viewpoints using full-sample strategy. We derive three notable findings. First, enterprises significantly improves their businesses exhibits some fluctuating characteristics. Second, greatly increases input output enterprise innovation, thereby improving efficiency two main ways breakthrough innovation. Third, there nonlinear relationship between transformation, meaning just one threshold consequence that diminishes after crossing threshold. With the continuous promotion of digitalization and global trend toward a low-carbon economy, issue whether enterprises can enhance their carbon performance with assistance digital technology has aroused widespread attention from both academia industry. In order to explore improve manufacturing enterprises, this study, based on resource orchestration theory signaling theory, utilizes data China’s A-share 2012 2021 empirically investigate relationship between firms.
