Introduction As a crucial strategy for promoting urbanization in China, smart city construction introduces new momentum high-quality economic development through intelligence and informatization. Coastal cities, with their unique geographical advantages, serve as important engines of growth. Methods Based on panel data from 53 coastal cities China 2003 to 2021, this study uses the super-efficiency SBM-GML index measure green total factor productivity an indicator employs time-varying difference-in-differences model examine impact areas. Results The findings reveal that (1) Smart significantly enhances cities. This conclusion remains valid parallel trend tests, PSM-DID, placebo tests endogeneity analysis. Social aspects constitute both concerns and opportunities in smart city development, as evidenced by a rapidly increasing body of research. This article presents the first-ever review all existing research on social focus cities, delineating distribution topics, knowledge bases, frontiers that knowledge. A bibliometric was performed to pinpoint publication trends, influential authors, their institutions, prevalent subject areas within literature since 2000. Using Web Science database, an amalgamation major indexes (SCI-EXPANDED, SSCI, AHCI, ESCI) were applied consider pattern citation impact different disciplines. 1,030 selected articles subjected mapping using VOSviewer. The results show almost exponential growth number publications from 2015 onwards. Four interconnected thematic clusters cropped up: (1) participatory governance, (2) data privacy security, (3) artificial intelligence media, (4) ethics sustainable development. deeper analysis key terms used recent revealed following hot topics: governance citizen participation, technologies such machine learning, blockchain, Internet Things. This study investigates the sociodemographic and contextual determinants influencing Internet usage among individuals with visual impairments in Thailand, contributing to literature on digital disability divide. Data from “Disability Survey 2022” conducted by National Statistical Office of Thailand were used. Descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, logistic regression analysis performed data 5621 visually impaired respondents. The findings indicate that approximately 26.88% use Internet. highlights several critical disparities. Males exhibit lower odds compared females (adjusted ratio [AOR] = 0.850, p 0.034). Younger are more likely Internet; a decline was observed increasing age (AOR for 60+ years 0.052, < 0.001). Regional disparities evident. Individuals northeastern 2.044, 0.001), central 1.356, 0.008), southern 1.992, 0.001) regions showed higher those northern region. Higher income 5000–9999 THB 1.798, educational attainment bachelor’s degree 14.915, wealth index wealthy 5.034, increase likelihood use. Employed 3.159, unemployed individuals. Additionally, severity impairment is crucial, having low vision both eyes engage online than who completely blind 5.935, These highlight need comprehensive inclusion initiatives address various factors, including age-inclusive literacy programs, targeted regional infrastructure development, economic support improve access, advancements assistive technologies. provides valuable insights policymakers other developing countries, enhancing understanding divide informing strategies foster greater equity.
