To investigate the incidence rate, risk factors, and clinical implications of postoperative pulmonary complications (PPCs) in patients undergoing colorectal cancer surgery (CRC). The study extracted data from National Inpatient Sample (NIS) between 2010 2019. Patients' were analyzed to identify predictors PPCs, association possible factors PPCs also assessed. A total 169,067 CRC included 15,494 (9.16%) diagnosed with study. Abstract With rising incidence, mortality and limited therapeutic options, heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) remains one of the most important topics in cardiovascular medicine today. Characterised by left ventricular diastolic dysfunction partially due to impaired Ca 2+ homeostasis, ion channel particular, SarcoEndoplasmic Reticulum -ATPase (SERCA2a), may play a significant role its pathophysiology. A better understanding complex mechanisms interplaying contribute SERCA2a will help develop treatments targeting it thus address growing clinical challenge HFpEF poses. This review examines conflicting evidence present for changes expression activity HFpEF, explores potential underlying mechanisms, finally evaluates drug gene therapy trials failure. Background: Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is a systemic syndrome primarily associated fibrosis, oxidative stress, inflammation, and cellular apoptosis. Growth differentiation factor 15 (GDF15), biomarker commonly used in clinical studies, exhibits protective effects on the myocardium. Therefore, focus of present study to determine mechanism by which GDF15 protects cardiac function HFpEF. Methods: We conducted functional enrichment analysis protein-protein interaction network genes highly expressed HFpEF but lowly normal samples. established an rat model feeding rats high-fat diet administering N-omega-nitro-l-arginine-methyl ester (L-NAME) their drinking water silenced tail vein injection lentivirus (L3110). Abstract Delaying senescence of cardiomyocytes has garnered widespread attention as a potential target for preventing cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). FGF13 (Fibroblast growth factor 13) been implicated in various pathophysiological processes. However, its role premature myocardial aging and cardiomyocyte remains unknown. Aims This meta-analysis aimed to explore the association between serum uric acid levels and efficacy of acid-lowering therapies on clinical outcomes among patients with heart failure preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). Methods A comprehensive literature search was conducted through October 21, 2023, across PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web Science databases. The pooled effect sizes were estimated presented their respective 95% confidence intervals (CI). Subgroup analyses based various factors, including sample size (<1,000 vs. ≥1,000), follow-up duration (<2 years ≥2 years), study quality (assessed by a score <7 ≥7), ethnicity (Non-Asian Asian), design (prospective retrospective), type (HF) (acute chronic), presence hyperuricemia (yes or no), left ventricular (LVEF) thresholds (≥45% ≥50%), therapy (traditional novel).
