Solid organ transplantation (SOT) is a life-saving procedure for those with end-stage dysfunction. The main goals of SOT are to improve quality life and daily function, which supported by pre- post-transplant rehabilitation. In-person rehabilitation programs have traditionally been the standard-of-care delivering patients. Many adopted virtual delivery model [telerehabilitation (TR)], an approach that has become increasingly used given restrictions in-person during COVID-19 pandemic. Presently, TR being both clinically in research variable practices. A 2-day meeting held February 2023 brought together over 30 Canadian adult pediatric researchers, clinicians, patient family partners across SOT. objectives were: (1) To facilitate knowledge exchange dialogue between partners, healthcare professionals, key stakeholders, (2) Identify gaps clinical practice TR. discussion focused on methods TR, digital tools, facilitators barriers effects physical mental health populations. This report incorporates narrative literature review articles last 20 years. Future directions highlighted leading development priorities targeted towards improved

Youth with congenital heart disease (CHD) have reduced exercise capacity via various physical and psychosocial mechanisms. In addition to limited physiologic capacity, these patients experience lower levels of activity, activity self-efficacy, health-related quality life, endothelial function. The study interventions cardiac rehabilitation programs in pediatric CHD populations remains limited, particularly home-based that incorporate real-time monitoring. Home-based provide improved access convenience patients. This is principally important for from geographically disperse regions who receive their care at centralized subspecialty centres, as the case Canadian care. These programs, however, traditionally not permitted supervision safety, technique, adherence are afforded by hospital/facility-based programs. As such, telemedicine an evolving area combines benefits traditional home facility-based rehabilitation. An additional key lacking surrounds types youth CHD. To date, often centred around moderate-intensity continuous exercise. High-intensity interval training might offer superior cardiorespiratory advantages but understudied population. this review, we highlight existing evidence basis CHD, explore promise incorporating solutions, knowledge gaps. address identified gaps, undertaking a 12-week randomized crossover trial high-intensity intervention repaired moderate-severe using video game-linked cycle ergometer (known MedBIKE; https://spaces.facsci.ualberta.ca/ahci/projects/medical-projects/remote-rehab-bike-projects).
