Abstract Purpose: to evaluate rheumatoid arthritis (RA) as a potential risk factor for the development of aqueous deficient dry eye (ADDE) compared evaporative (EDE). Study Design : The study design was observational and cross-sectional. Methods: Two hundred volunteer participants with disease (DED) were recruited based on TFOS DEWS II criteria, which included tear film osmolarity, Fluorescein Break-Up Time, ocular surface damage assessment. To obtain OSDI scores, demographics, RA diagnosis by their medical doctor, using QR codes linked designated mobile Forms. Tear meniscus height lipid layer pattern measured in all differentiate between ADDE, EDE, or Mixed addition DED diagnostic criteria. Results: after initial recruitment, total 113 eligible final analysis. ADDE group had higher likelihood having (OR 5.65, 95% CI 1.20-26.55) EDE group. Additionally, number statistically than those (Fisher's exact test, p = 0.020). Furthermore, correlation obtained an differential (Cramer's V 0.227, 0.026). Conclusion: present supports hypothesis that could be over type.
