Scientific
contributions
to
BIM-sustainability
integration
have
gained
momentum
in
recent
years
due
the
influential
role
of
BIM
as
a
well-accepted
approach
for
sustainable
construction
practices.
In
this
regard,
some
systematic
reviews
and
informatic
analysis
papers
addressed
topic.
Although
these
provided
useful
insights,
we
go
deeper
into
body
knowledge
through
critical
lens.
addition,

is
broadened
opposed
other
reviews,
insight
applied
synergies
between
sustainability
gap-spotting.
For
purpose,
98
journal
articles
are
selected
grouped
four
major
categories,
namely:
(i)
BIM-based
Life-Cycle
Sustainability

(iii)

management;
(iv)
state-of-the-art
topics.
The
work's
novelty
lies
giving
holistic
understanding
previously
dismissed

The
construction
industry
is
a
resource-
and
energy-intensive
sector,
and,
thus,
it
has
been
criticised
due
to
rising
environmental
concerns.
As
result,

economy
(CE)

last
