Geothermal

harnesses
heat
from
Earth’s
crust
to
provide
continuous
clean
energy.
Identifying
suitable
geothermal
sites
involves
evaluating
various
geological
and
geographical
factors
ensure
optimal
extraction
minimal
environmental
impact.
This
study
evaluates
potential
South
Southwestern
US
states
with
high
concentration
of
abandoned
fossil
fuel
infrastructure,
tribal
lands,
HUBZones,
or
all
three

evaluate
how
balance
development,
land
rights,
justice
future
systems.

publicly
available
Geographic
Information
System
(GIS)
datasets
identify
areas
