Perivascular adipose tissue (PVAT) is a dynamic that affects vascular function and cardiovascular health. The connection between PVAT, the immune system, obesity, disease complex plays pivotal role in pathogenesis of diseases such as atherosclerosis, hypertension, inflammation. In cardiometabolic diseases, PVAT becomes significant source proflammatory adipokines, leading to increased infiltration cells, proinflammatory promoting smooth muscle cell proliferation migrationpromoting migration. This exacerbates dysfunction by impairing endothelial activation. Dysregulated also contributes hemodynamic alterations hypertension through enhanced sympathetic nervous system activity impaired vasodilatory capacity PVAT-derived factors. Therapeutic interventions targeting key components this interaction, modulating inflammation, restoring adipokine balance, attenuating activation, hold promise for mitigating obesity-related complications. Lifestyle interventions, pharmacological agents inflammatory pathways, surgical approaches aimed at reducing mass or improving are potential therapeutic avenues managing associated with obesity dysfunction.

Background/Objectives: Mounting evidence indicates that the short-chain fatty acid butyrate protects against obesity and associated comorbidities, partially through induction of adipose tissue thermogenesis. However, effects on white (WAT) browning its molecular mechanism are still elusive. The objective this study was to investigate butyrate-induced thermogenesis in underlying mechanism. Methods: We studied diet-induced humanized APOE*3-Leiden.CETP transgenic mouse model explored factors related browning. Specifically, mice were challenged with a high-fat diet supplemented butyrate. Adiposity measured assess development. Energy metabolism detected using an indirect calorimetry system. RNA-seq analysis conducted analyze transcription landscape WAT responsible targets. Furthermore, revealed verified vitro. Results: Butyrate alleviated promoted energy expenditure accompanied by brown activation Mechanistically, downregulated HDAC9 WAT. Additionally, decreased while increasing Inhibition TMP269 thermogenic gene expression, mimicking Conclusions: decreasing expression inducing This reveals new whereby activates adaptive provides insights for development weight-loss drugs targeting HDAC9.

Spatially offset Raman spectroscopy (SORS) enhanced the capabilities of for depth-resolved analysis biological and diffusely scattering samples. This technique offers selective probing subsurface layers, providing molecular insights without invasive procedures. While SORS has found application in biomedical research, up to now, studies have focused mainly on detection mineralization bones tissues. Herein, first time, is used assess soft, organic tissue beneath skin's surface. In this study, we demonstrate diagnostic utility a hand-held device evaluating chemical composition adipose tissue. We compared perigonadal white (gWAT) murine model atherosclerosis, heart failure, high-fat diet (HFD) induced obesity. Our results reveal distinct differences gWAT between HFD-fed control mice, showcasing potential intravital phenotype characterization. Furthermore, our findings underscore effectiveness as valuable tool noninvasive assessment composition, holding significance metabolic disorders.

Introduction and Purpose: Short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), including butyric acid, acetic acid propionic are naturally produced in the large intestine by bacterial fermentation of insoluble carbohydrates oligosaccharides. Butyric which is main source energy for colon cells, has regenerative, cytoprotective anti-inflammatory effects. Its physiological importance lies maintaining integrity function intestinal epithelium, protects body against pathogens oxidative stress. SCFA deficiencies resulting from low dietary fiber supply can lead to disorders. Supplementation with sodium butyrate, particularly using micro-encapsulation technology, enables efficient delivery gut, may be beneficial treatment inflammatory bowel disease prevention obesity insulin resistance. Sodium butyrate (NaB) also promising potential colorectal cancer (CRC), inducing apoptosis increasing sensitivity radiotherapy chemotherapy protecting healthy cells. SCFAs, especially play a key role reproductive medicine, oncology gastroenterology, contributing maintenance health being therapeutic targets. The aim this paper review available literature on topic. Material methods: was based articles obtained PubMed scientific database published 2014-2024, following keywords: obesity, pregnancy, disease, cancer, SCFA. Conclusions: Studies confirm effects metabolism, reduction inflammation, opening up new possibilities metabolic disorders diseases. However, further clinical studies conducted humans still needed, as most work date been mice and/or rats.
