This paper investigates the mechanics of Extrusion Blow Moulding (EBM) process, focusing on clamp and inflation phases. The simulation framework employed in this study has been developed using OpenFOAM ® extends available Finite Area Method with a vertex-centred approach. cutting-edge developments integrated corotational formulation quasi-static approximation. computational code algorithm are verified validated through comparisons between analytical solutions, experimental measurements results, ensuring accuracy reliability proposed implemented is by checking fundamental principles hyperelastic materials behaviour, demonstrated equibiaxial deformation spherical balloons. use neo-Hookean Mooney–Rivlin material models provides crucial insights into responses under different conditions. studies begin employing conceptual mould within EBM process that allows examining effects clamping parison deformation. Then to analysing real bottle manufactured via EBM, Stereolithography (STL) digitization thickness mapping quantify distribution. results closely replicates observations, capturing inherent non-linearity these stages, including large deformations displacements, hyperelasticity parison-mould contacts. interdisciplinary research enhances understanding phases analogous processes, providing valuable for plastic manufacturing. It improves design meeting specific requirements offers guidelines avoid potential failures. findings underscore importance such advancing sustainable efficient manufacturing practices, applications ranging from inflatable structures processes.

In this work, non-linear elastic deformations of beams are investigated. The kinematics the beam is derived based on an element with four-parameter containing a through-the-thickness stretch parameter to avoid Poisson locking. Moreover, Kirchhoff-Saint Venant model used derive kinetic quantities. Next, FE formula in Total Lagrangian form obtained, and three-node two-node reduced integration employed shear Finally, evaluate performance formulations, some examples provided. results prove that current formulation very good agreement those available literature. More importantly, capable predicting experimental high accuracy.
