Abstract Zeolitic imidazolate framework‐8 (ZIF‐8) was used to enhance the interfacial strength of composites due its large specific surface area, uniform pore size, and high stability. Morphology‐controllable ZIF‐8 nanocrystals were synthesized by solvent method a layer small‐sized height crystalline deposited on carbon fibers via an efficient electrophoretic deposition (EPD) way. The results showed that interlaminar shear (ILSS) tensile (TS) fibers/epoxy TS fiber enhanced 43.56% 25.48%, respectively. strong adhesion between epoxy attributed improving wettability, ionic interaction mechanical interlocking effect induced porous ZIF‐8, which led effective energy absorption load transfer. This highly controllable is believed improve properties for wide range industrial uses. Highlights ZIF‐8s in different sizes morphology method. MOF firstly onto though deposition. Materials Studio evaluate anchoring strength. ILSS 43.56%.
