Rapid recombination of charge carriers in semiconductors is a main drawback for photocatalytic oxidative coupling methane (OCM) reactions. Herein, we propose novel catalyst by developing p–n junction titania–silicon nanowires (TiO 2 /SiNWs) heterostructure. The structure fabricated atomic layer deposition TiO on p-type SiNWs. /SiNWs heterostructure exhibited an outstanding OCM performance under simulated solar light irradiation compared to the single components. This enhanced efficiency was attributed intrinsic electrical field formed between n-type and SiNWs, which forces generated move opposite directions suppresses recombination. Besides, surface morphology optical properties are also beneficial activity. It expected that results this study will provide massive guidance synthesizing efficient photocatalyst CH 4 conversion mild conditions.
