Abstract
Determining
the
genetic
architecture
of
traits
involved
in
adaptation
and
speciation
is
one
key
components
understanding
evolutionary
mechanisms
behind
biological
diversification.
Hybrid
zones
provide
a
unique
opportunity
to
use
admixture
identify
loci
contributing
partial
reproductive
barriers
between
taxa.
Many
studies
have
focused
on
temporal
dynamics
hybrid
zones,
but
geographical
variation
that
span
distinct
ecological
contexts
has
received
less
attention.
We
address
this
knowledge
gap
by
analyzing
hybridization
introgression
black-capped
Carolina
chickadees
two
geographically
remote
transects
across
their
extensive
zone,
located
eastern
central
North
America.
Previous
demonstrated
zone
moving
northward
as
result
climate
change
staying
consistently
narrow
due
selection
against
hybrids.
In
addition,
~5×
slower
America
compared
more
regions,
reflecting
continent-wide
rate
change.

genome
sequencing

whether
movement
reflected
patterns
introgression,

genes

restricted
