Cancer is a serious global health threat, and photodynamic therapy (PDT) an effective treatment method for cancer. This works by generating large amount of singlet oxygen (1O2) under the influence light, which induces apoptosis in tumor cells, leading to their destruction. However, resistance cells limits development PDT, thus combination ferroptosis provides new perspective PDT. During PDT ferroptosis, levels 1O2 microenvironment (viscosity) within often change. To address this, this study developed novel fluorescent probe, NI–QM-OH, based on TICT–ICT effect, capable monitoring changes viscosity during The probe exhibits excellent selectivity, high sensitivity, low LOD (0.38 μM), has been successfully applied bioimaging HepG2, HeLa, MCF-7 as well zebrafish. Most importantly, NI–QM–OH also enables visualization diagnosis fatty liver disease (both alcoholic nonalcoholic).
