Auxetic materials expand in the lateral direction when stretched axially and contract laterally compressed axially, thereby resulting a negative Poisson's ratio. However, numerous studies have focused on laboratory-scale composite samples for non-structural applications, while only few recent attempted to achieve full-scale structural elements. Abstract Natural fiber‐reinforced composites have emerged as a promising alternative in various industries, including automotive, aerospace, construction, and civil engineering, owing to their eco‐friendly nature favorable mechanical properties.
