To increase the bearing capacity of cemented tailings backfill (CTB) and to reduce crack development damage in due internal defects or external disturbances. This paper investigates effect mixing alkalized rice straw (ARS) on mechanical properties layered (LCTB) by load-bending strength experiment, surface strain field testing, microstructural analysis. The results study showed that: ability straw-reinforced-LCTB (AR-LCTB) resist bending is superior when content length ARS are range 1 wt% 1.5 9 mm − 12 mm. It also stores more energy converted from loads, releasing incredible fracture case damage. Most extension AR-LCTB will develop horizontally along interface, resulting a stepped morphology penetration joints. Ettringite (AFt) hydrate calcium silicate (C-S-H) gel were found be leading hydration materials matrix. ARS's bridging allowed maintain certain level integrity after being loaded beyond its peak strength.
