Cement-based self-leveling mortar (CSL) is a special building material that utilizes cement as the main cementitious component, combined with variety of admixtures. Its characteristics enable it to effectively level and fill uneven surfaces. Additionally, innovative green CSL developed from industrial by-products can further enhance both environmental economic benefits. This paper systematically reviews use admixtures in production CSL. The findings include following: (i) compared international ISO standard, China's standard JC/T 985 provides more detailed testing parameters regarding fluidity, mechanical properties, shrinkage; (ii) effect additives on affected by its molecular weight structure, high improving workability additives; (iii) have been incorporated into CSL, leading reduction reduced greenhouse gas emissions decreased impact; (iv) macro microanalysis results different CSLs show by-product gypsum has greatest potential for application Based these findings, this offers valuable reference data Furthermore, contributes innovatively sustainable development infrastructure construction.
