Abstract Bridge condition assessment is a crucial component of bridge management. To better adapt to the multi-level, nonlinear, and multi-criteria decision-making problems in assessments, modified technique for order preference by similarity ideal solution (TOPSIS)-based nonlinear method proposed fuzzy environment. First, quantitative representations three different types bottom indices models under analytic hierarchy process framework are developed using numbers. Subsequently, with regard conventional TOPSIS approach, several enhancement optimizations considered, including absolutization fuzzification positive negative solutions, determination variable weights bottom-level indexes, based on level sets, defuzzification grading evaluation results. These measures reduce ambiguities uncertainties associated approach can optimally accommodate performance logic. Finally, illustrate practicality feasibility developing method, real scenario built. The results indicate that this effectively reflect state overall bridge, providing robust basis maintenance rehabilitation decision-making.
