Ships and offshore equipment operating in marine environments often face issues such as seawater corrosion biofouling, leading to significant economic losses. To address the problems of ships equipment, heavy-duty anticorrosive coatings are widely used for protection due their long-term effectiveness, cost-efficiency, excellent applicability. In this study, silane coupling agent (KH-560) was employed modify sodium silicate, modified silicate then incorporated a reinforcing phase into polyurethane ultimately prepare silicate/polyurethane coating. The feasibility coating investigated by characterizing its conventional physicochemical properties, weather resistance, acid alkali salt spray resistance. Experimental results indicate that acts bridge between organic inorganic interfaces through hydrolysis condensation reactions bifunctional groups, forming an interfacial layer connected hydrogen bonds covalent bonds, thereby improving compatibility resin silicate. Comprehensive performance analysis revealed when content 60 wt%, hardness reached 4H. Additionally, electrochemical tests demonstrated exhibited higher impedance (9.62 × 104 Ω/cm2) lower current density (5.82 10−7 A/cm2). This study provides theoretical experimental basis development high-performance applications.
