ABSTRACTThis study investigated the effect of calcium silicate hydrate (C-S-H) on copper (Cu) uptake, availability, geochemical speciation, and immobilization in soil-plant system. C-S-H, prepared from coal gangue, was added to Cu-contaminated soil assess its pakchoi growth. C-S-H application increased pH, organic matter content, cation exchange capacity while reducing electrical conductivity. It also microbial biomass enzyme activities Cu bioavailability, mobility, leaching toxicity. The possible fixation mechanisms by media included ion exchange, complexation, precipitation. Moreover, fresh biomass, dry plant height, root length significantly 5.81-23.74%, 8.48-34.69%, 5.13-29.42%, 6.78-28.81%, respectively. content shoots roots decreased 17.30-66.04% 11.77-58.09%, These findings demonstrate that is an effective amendment for accumulation enhances solidification ability contaminated soil.
