Objective This study leverages adolescents’ everyday smartphone use investigate validate smartphone-based mobile sensing data against established ambulatory methods. We describe methods this provide update on its status. After collection completed, we will address three specific aims: (1) identify idiographic dynamic variability symptoms, (2) test validity ecological momentary assessment (EMA) actigraphy identifying these drivers, (3) explore adolescent baseline characteristics as predictors drivers. Methods A total 50 adolescents with elevated symptoms participate 28 days EMA assessing processes, affect, sleep; mobility, physical activity, sleep, natural language typed interpersonal communication, screen-on time, call frequency duration using Effortless Assessment Risk States app; wrist activity sleep. Adolescents caregivers complete clinical measures at baseline, well user feedback interviews follow-up. Idiographic, within-subject networks modeled each adolescent’s depression. Correlations among EMA, sensor, actigraph physical, social used assess Data-driven analyses sensor variables predicting core (self-reported mood anhedonia) also Finally, between-subject explored Results As October 2023, 84 families were screened eligible, whom 70% (n=59) provided informed consent 46% (n=39) met all inclusion criteria after completing assessment. Of 39 included families, 85% (n=33) completed 28-day period follow-up visit. Conclusions depressed The findings are expected offer novel insights into structure dynamics symptomatology a sensitive development inform future scalable, low-burden tool treatment decisions adolescents. It is, therefore, pivotal to increase our knowledge about potential (personalized) healthy stress relief strategies for adolescents. This study investigated individual personality differences (i.e., behavioral inhibition versus activation) in adolescents’ preference for, the effectiveness of, physical or mental exercise relieve stress. A sample of 208 (12 18 years) were recruited during a science education student festival Netherlands. For ethical reasons, no personally identifiable information could be collected. Surveys used assess preferences at baseline subjective baseline, after induction with Sing-a-Song Test, through exercise. The results from multivariate regression analyses indicate that did not significantly influence benefit from, relief. Both types reduced experienced stress, but effect was stronger when performed activity choice. findings suggest pre- intervention efforts stress-related problems are better directed offering range effective free-choice activities than on personalized stress-relief methods.
