Standardized suicide mortality rates per 100,000 (SMRs) in Japan consistently decreased from 2009 to 2019 but increased 2020. The causes of these temporal SMR fluctuations remain be clarified. Therefore, this study was conducted identify the causalities underlying recently transformed Japan. Monthly numbers disaggregated by sex and social standing, political uncertainty indices, such as economic policy (EPU) government management instability (AENROP), were obtained Japanese databases. Interrupted time-series analysis performed analyze SMRs sex/social standing associated with three General Principles Suicide Prevention Policy (GPSPP) periods COVID-19 pandemic. Panel data vector autoregressive analyses investigate uncertainties SMRs. During first second GPSPPs (2009-2017), all decreased, whereas those unemployed females did not change. third GPSPP (2017-2022), decreasing trends attenuated compared previous periods. All female SMRs, except females, showed sharp increases synchronized pandemic outbreak. No male sharply increasing at males/females drastically later pandemic, while employed multiple-person/single-person household males increase during positively related AENROP EPU. Other EPU/AENROP. On contrary, Increasing generally contributed throughout observation period; however, susceptibility and/or information might have unexpectedly suppressing induced large-scale shocks (the outbreak)

Abstract Despite evidence to suggest that receiving support for mental health difficulties can improve later outcomes, adolescents often do not seek help when needed. While factors reduce the likelihood of help-seeking intentions are well established, little is known about may increase adolescents’ help. This study sought identify promotive general intentions, as from formal and informal sources specifically, test assumptions cumulative promotion theory in relation help-seeking. Participants comprised 290 early (aged 11–14) Northwest England who completed a suite online measures assessing their health, wellbeing, intentions. Candidate were modelled, index (CPI) score was generated each participant. Hierarchical regression used analyse data. A range identified CPI scores significant predictors all three even after accounting variance explained by individual factors. Thus, this confirms two key tenets amongst adolescents: (1) number increases, also increase, (2) more important than nature increasing

Abstract The study aims to examine longitudinal trajectories of Post Traumatic Growth (PTG) during the COVID-19 pandemic in a sample 190 (54.70% female) early adolescents with mean age 11.34 years ( SD = 0.82). influence time-invariant predictor - resilience traits and time-varying covariates related stress systems life satisfaction on was further examined. latent growth curve analysis showed significant negative slope, suggesting linear decline PTG over time. Pre-pandemic predictors did not explain inter-individual variability PTG, whereas were significantly associated short-term variations. In particular, higher levels COVID-19-related reported scores at each time point, effect gradually decreasing three waves. parallel, PTG. findings support idea as potential coping strategy response stressful situations highlight critical role resources triggering after event.
