As an active ingredient of leguminous plants, genistein is extremely important for alleviating various human diseases. However, the regulatory effect on intestinal microbiota in enteritis still unclear. In this study, dextran sodium sulfate (DSS)-induced colitis and potential microbial metabolic regulation mechanism were explored. First, DSS-induced was studied mice. Then antibiotics used to inhibit bacteria verify that microorganisms play role genistein. Finally, mice administrated with live differential bacterium confirm can regulate treat colitis. The results indicated alleviated colonic inflammation by inhibiting Nuclear factor kappa-B Cyclooxygenase-2/Prostaglandin E2 pathway. Genistein injury decreased Mucin 2 secretion. Supplementation attenuated decrease alpha diversity gut bacteria. increased abundance Lachnospiraceae Marvinbryantia formatexigens, concentration short chain fatty acids After depleted bacteria, lost relieving colitis, indicating must relieve through Mice fed living formatexigens short-chain relieved present study demonstrates regulating increasing acid production.
