The impact of climate change on nature-based tourism is gaining significance. This study evaluated the impacts and stakeholders’ perspectives subject in Maasai Mara National Reserve World Heritage Site. Surveys interviews were used to collect data. main climate-related threats heavy rain, floods, extreme droughts. These events adversely impacted infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, accommodation facilities, outdoor activities, game viewing, cultural tours, birdwatching, hot air ballooning. They also exacerbated human–wildlife conflicts. key challenges identified dealing with poor planning, non-prioritizing a threat, lack expertise, inadequate research, internal early warning systems. recommendations included prioritization development systems, building resilience toward disasters. contributes practice by making for management other stakeholders. It extends discussions wildlife destinations Africa.

Decision-makers, researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders often struggle with selecting prioritizing strategies to manage climate change risks. While recent research extensively explores this issue, the emphasis has largely been on regions other than Africa. This is significant, considering Africa’s anticipated exposure various severe impacts of change. study applied a two-stage model that integrates Step-Wise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis (SWARA) Weighted Aggregated Sum Product (WASPAS) methods within unique framework under influence spherical fuzzy (SF) conditions. In initial stage, SF-SWARA determines relative importance criteria, while subsequent stage involves SF-WASPAS method rank strategies. most critical challenges are limited access finance inadequacies in data, scenarios, impact models, solution be considered promotion well-coordinated capacity-building programme. Furthermore, comprehensive sensitivity analysis was conducted validate applicability proposed model. not only identifies explains associated risks management African context but also significantly contributes body knowledge by outlining required address these challenges.

This study assesses the literature evidence on climate change risk, resilience, and adaptation measures used among rural farmers in East Africa. A systematic review was conducted comprising 30 papers from Web of Science database published during 2000–2022. The results showed that risks have direct impacts agricultural practices, limit farmers’ exacerbate their food insecurity. most prominent are increasingly shorter wet seasons heat stress, which lead to droughts production losses. Responding risks, Africa adopt various strategies such as mixed- inter-cropping, conservation tillage, early planting, crop diversification, etc. Also, this summarizes determinants strategy selection by Africa, including age, gender, household size, economic status assets, landownership livestock, education training, Overall, choice is strongly determined gender heads, a determinant differ greatly between different case studies. Although female-headed households (FHHs) tend perceive changes temperature more readily than male-headed (MHHs), latter generally likely strategies. Despite resilience now, improved weather forecasting warning systems needed better direction towards future.

This study provides unprecedented insights into water scarcity dynamics across Africa's diverse climatic zones, utilizing the Standardized Precipitation-Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI) multiple timescales from 1960 to 2018. Employing Modified Mann-Kendall test, Sen's Slope estimator, and copula functions, we analyzed drought characteristics eight African subregions using CRU TS4.05 dataset. Key findings reveal significant spatial heterogeneity in trends, with increasing dryness particularly evident Mediterranean Sahara regions. A pronounced shift towards drier conditions emerged post-1990, mean duration expanding 1.5 months (SPEI-3) over 6 (SPEI-24). Drought intensity increased by 0.2 unit annually, while frequency decreased 20%. The region demonstrated highest trend timescales. Return period analyses showed most sub-regions experiencing short-term droughts low severity, extreme events remained less frequent. These underscore complex nature of patterns, emphasizing critical need for region-specific, adaptive climate strategies address unique ecological challenges.

Biochar is a soil amendment that can change soil's physical and hydraulic properties. However, biochar application far from being 'one size fits-all' approach. The impact of the management practices dependent on type (feedstock production conditions), depth method, climate site characteristics. Hence, this study aims to enrich available inconclusive information how could affect clay loamy assess potential induced water stress mitigation rain-fed durum wheat under specific condition semi-arid environment North West Tunisia. A field experiment was investigated in which three rates 0 (B0), 10 (equivalent 0.5% weight) (B1) 20 t/ha 1% weight), (B2), were tested. Other laboratory analysis allowed evaluation retention curve (SWRC), saturated conductivity (Ks), dry density (ρb) biostress biomarkers such as glutathione-S-transferase (GST), catalase activities (CAT) malondialdehyde content (MDA) well yield attributes. Results showed treatment B2 significantly decreased ρb Ks with relative values about -3.1% -19%. Consequently, SWRC better capacity, mostly saturation matric value (h) 33 kPa. Globally, urban disaster risk is being affected by changing patterns of natural hazards due to climate change and rapid urbanization. While we have a relatively good understanding the hazard exposure in cities, know little about their vulnerability. In this study, investigate drivers dynamics vulnerability for six different conducting systematic literature review on peer-reviewed scientific literature. Out an initial set 3168 studies, included 462 studies in-depth analysis. We present VulneraCity, database, which record classify them based topic acquisition method. Overall, list 1460 unique 37.3% are empirically acquired source studies. Other either modeled (7.9%), theorized (22.9%), adopted (27.0%), or with unknown method (5.0%). Furthermore, relationships between impact often assumed be linear, but identify types directional - one-directional, bidirectional, transferable, asynergies, conditional, compound describe complexities these show that linearity assumption regularly violated. These results shed light necessary should taken into account assessments. VulneraCity can facilitate discussions local-scale analyses, could also provide input larger-scale comparative cities. recommend further research multi-hazard (instead multiple hazards') as next steps towards more comprehensive
