Comprehensive but interpretable assessment of the environmental performance diets involves choosing a set appropriate indicators. Current knowledge and data gaps on origin dietary foodstuffs restrict use indicators relying site-specific information. This Personal View summarises commonly used for assessing diets, briefly outlines their benefits drawbacks, provides recommendations indicator choices actors across multiple fields involved in activities that include diets. We then provide assessments, such as health nutrition experts, policy makers, decision private-sector public-sector sustainability officers. recommend should at least five following areas: climate change, biosphere integrity, blue water consumption, novel entities, impacts natural resources (especially wild fish stocks), to capture important trade-offs. If more can be handled assessment, related land quantity quality green consumption used. For ambitious biogeochemical flows, stratospheric ozone depletion, energy added.

Abstract As climate change impacts intensify, water‐related problems and the vulnerability of small‐scale agricultural producers are expected to increase, suggesting need for an inclusive integrated management water resources. This requires understanding system mapping stakeholders, among other things. study was conducted in Borkena Mille catchments Awash River basin, Ethiopia. It aimed improve how effectiveness practices resource planning address draw implications future stakeholder participation. Data were collected through key informant interviews, focus group discussions, literature reviews, observation. The Driver‐Pressure‐State‐Impact‐Response framework used assess system's state its producers. Stakeholder analyses involved examining their power resources, evaluating interest, influence, participation, trust levels, dynamics exclusion empowerment. results suggested that natural systems both degrading, though multiple responses implemented regarding practices. Abstract Warfare inflicts profound ecological damage that undermines global sustainability, yet the environmental costs of conflict remain critically under-assessed due to fragmented and impractical evaluation frameworks. This study presents a novel AI-powered assessment model integrates Driver-Pressure-State-Impact-Response (DPSIR) framework with generative AI, satellite data, expert validation systematically quantify impacts in zones. The enables scalable, real-time evaluations both immediate effects—such as deforestation chemical spills—and latent risks like groundwater contamination, even hazardous or inaccessible areas. By providing scientifically rigorous actionable insights, this empowers policymakers prioritize restoration, strengthen accountability, integrate nature-based recovery strategies into post-conflict rebuilding. Positioned at nexus science, artificial intelligence, international governance, work advances transformative approach address conflict-driven degradation, aligning efforts sustainability goals fostering resilient, equitable future.

With increasing urbanization and industrialization, soil forest resources are facing considerable pressure, as well the demand for water domestic, agricultural, industrial activities. Therefore, it is essential to conduct regular assessments of quality ensure that consistently maintained in context ecosystem services (ESs). Our objective was apply driving forces–pressures–state–impacts–responses (DPSIR) model understand cause–effect relationships interactions with anthropogenic pressures on deforestation Talgua River watershed associated valley plain areas central-eastern Honduras. Physicochemical microbiological analyses were conducted determine index (NSF–WQI) other contamination indexes. The results identified high by coliforms, up 920.00 NPM/100 mL, levels organic matter (ICOMO, 0.65), solids (ICOSUS, 0.79), mineralization (ICOMI, 0.99), presence bacteria (BPI, 8.50), development eutrophication processes (ICOTRO), resulting generally low quality. These problems caused socio-demographic economic growth area, water, vulnerability climate change, intense agro-livestock activity, which led processes, changes land use, natural bodies impacted overexploitation aquifers. After applying DPSIR model, strategies proposed management administration aimed at preserving soils, resources, while promoting stakeholder, business, education sector, public participation.

Climate change and human activities have caused various ecological risks to coastal urban agglomerations. Ecological security refers the state of health an ecosystem its integrity. An objective comprehensive evaluation is significant for protecting structure function ecosystems. The driving force–pressure–state–impact–response (DPSIR) model was used construct a dynamic simulation in Xiamen–Zhangzhou–Quanzhou region (XZQR), located on eastern coast China. level (ESL) characteristics spatial temporal patterns were evaluated by calculating index (ESI). Obstacle factors analyzed as well. results show following: (1) From 2011 2021, average ESI rose from 0.238 0.686 went through relatively insecure stage (2011–2015), critical (2016–2019), secure (2020–2021). (2) Quanzhou higher early stage, Zhangzhou showed rising trend, increasing 0.541. Its increase depended increases impact layer. (3) layer main obstacle affecting ESL, obstacles include CO2 emissions (0.117), annual rainfall (0.091), general public budget expenditures (0.082), GDP growth rates green coverage built-up areas (0.075). Therefore, we recommend promoting complementary advantages XZQR implementing restoration projects.
