Organic farming, which is deeply rooted in traditional agricultural practices, has witnessed a profound evolution over the last century. Transitioning from grassroots initiative resisting industrialization of agriculture to global industry, organic farming now plays pivotal role addressing contemporary challenges related environmental health, sustainability, and food safety. Despite growing consumer demand for products market access, its challenges. This paper discusses origin with an emphasis on different types fertilizers, benefits, Nutrient variability slow-release nature fertilizer often do not meet crop demands can substantially reduce yield. Some like manure biosolids, provide higher yield benefit, but there are health risks associated them. Weed pest management be labor-intensive increase costs. Inefficient planning rapid transition also create insecurity. gives brief account current certification process fertilizers their technicalities. It showcases how holistic approach extends beyond production, including strategies reducing waste building self-sufficient communities. These practices contribute more sustainable system, impacts supporting local economies. Future technological innovations, especially precision bio-physicochemical models, help formulating targeted fertilizers.

The disposal of large amounts food waste has caused serious environmental pollution and financial losses globally. Compared to alternative methods (landfills, incineration, anaerobic digestion), composting by black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) is a promising for management. Despite extensive research into larval biomass, another valuable by-product generated from BSFL frass. However, limited information available its potential application. applications frass can be intensified understanding physicochemical characteristics, benefits, challenges derived waste. harvested after 9-23 days the experiment, depending on substrate used in process. could exceed 33% original weight substrate. characteristics are as follows: temperature harvest 24 °C 27 °C, pH 5.6-8.0, moisture content 30 72%, C/N ratio 8:1 27:1, high nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium (NPK) content, low heavy metal content. Abstract Enhancing wheat productivity by implementing a comprehensive approach that combines irrigation, nutrition, and organic amendments shows potential for collectively enhancing crop performance. This study examined the individual combined effects of using irrigation systems (IS), foliar potassium bicarbonate (PBR) application, compost application methods (CM) on nine traits related to growth, physiology, yield Giza-171 cultivar. Analysis variance revealed significant ( P ≤ 0.05) main IS, PBR, CM over two growing seasons study. Drip resulted in 16% increase plant height, leaf area index, growth rate, components, grain compared spray irrigation. Additionally, PBR at concentration 0.08 g/L boosted these parameters up 22% control. Furthermore, role method enhanced performance treatment including mix application. Importantly, analysis three-way interaction between three factors had effect all studied traits, with drip g rate (referred as Drip_0.08g_Role) resulting best across while sprinkle without conventional mixed sprinkle_CK_Mix) produced poorest results. highlights synergistically improve through optimized agronomic inputs.

Microplastics (MPs) are pollutants that have contaminated compost, but there few studies on the interaction between compost with MPs (MPsC) and rice seedling performance. This study investigated effect of MPsC planting activity in rice. In this Three different treatments were applied: treatment 1 (P1) as a control without addition MPs, Treatment 2 (P2) % PET concentration, 3 (P3) concentration. Rice seedlings planted medium each observed for 24 days after (dap). showed significant reduction 38 %, 25 at root length, height, fresh weight respectively. Additionally, chlorophyll content was decrease 42 45 55 Chl a, b, total Chl. may be caused by disturbances nutrition photosynthesis processes due to exposure MPs. The can inhibit growth health seedlings. These findings underscore critical need effective management plastic waste agricultural mitigate its adverse effects plant environmental sustainability. Proper disposal contaminants essential maintain integrity used agriculture, thereby ensuring optimal ecological balance.

This study explores the economic benefits and challenges associated with biodegradable waste composting, highlighting its role in promoting sustainability through a circular economy framework. We reviewed relevant literature found 160 articles for this study, including keywords “Biodegradable waste”, “Compost production”, “Economic Potential”. Considering quality studies, we employed PRISMA technique to conduct comprehensive data synthesis evaluate 89 final review. Our findings highlight that composting offers significant advantages, reduction, cost savings management, carbon credit, source of nitrogen, job creation, reduced reliance on synthetic fertilizers. Further, it supports environmental by improving soil health, mitigating greenhouse gas emissions, reducing landfill use. However, such as high upfront costs, control, market competition chemical fertilizers remain barriers widespread adoption. The extends emphasizing integration into can foster innovation, enhance local economies, contribute climate change mitigation. Furthermore, promising pathway advancing sustainability. Future research should focus technologies, optimizing their applications, developing stronger policy frameworks ensure successful implementation practices.

Composting is an environmentally friendly method for transforming the nutrients present in livestock manure into organic fertilizer. In this study, compost quality-enhancing and N2O CH4 emissions-reducing effects of superphosphate were investigated during industrial-scale in-vessel composting swine manure. Alongside a control group, three different doses tested: 5% (SSP5), 10% (SSP10), 15% (SSP15). The results revealed that reduced emissions by 18.5–26.3% 15.8–25.1%, respectively. addition, enhanced both N P contents compost. However, it had adverse impact on maturity, with SSP15 dose showing lowest germination index (GI) at 70.4% highest electrical conductivity (EC) 9.04 mS·cm−1. These findings suggest has potential greenhouse gas mitigation nutrient augmentation industrial composting. Although economic benefits addition GHG reduction are limited, technology holds considerable nitrogen conservation. Further investigations should focus combining other improvements, considering quality viability.
