Abstract Understanding the long-term dynamics and driving factors of small micro wetlands is crucial for their management sustainable development. In this study, we utilized Landsat satellite imagery data from 1980 to 2018 Geodetector Model explore spatiotemporal changes in western Jilin Province, China, considering such as land use climate change. The research findings are follows. (1) Province have shown a downward trend past 40 years. area has decreased 2802km 2 818 km 2018, number 2604 337 2018. (2) From spatial distribution perspective, micro-wetlands initially exhibited concentrated pattern but gradually dispersed around, demonstrating significant heterogeneity., respectively. they mainly distributed Da'an City, accounting 42% province. (3) As time unfolded, dynamic evolution been distinctly influenced by an amalgam natural environmental human interventions. particular, human-induced activities, notably agricultural expansion urbanization processes, emerged predominant forces during period 2000. However, while activities continued impart influence, roles determinants precipitation become progressively more apparent 2001 Importantly, influences exerted on these not standalone; there marked interplay between them. This interaction, typically presents nonlinear amplification among varied influencing factors. results study provide supportive scientific evidence ecological restoration conservation wetlands.
