Silicon–calcium–potassium–magnesium fertilizer (Si–Ca–K–Mg fertilizer), a critical acidic soil conditioner for remediating polluted soils, encounters significant challenge: substantial potassium loss through flue gas during high–temperature calcination, which increases production costs. This study optimized the blending ratio of molybdenum tailings (MTs) with CaCO3 and CaSO4, systematically investigating interplay between clinker–soluble potassium, volatile loss, total activated content calcination. Key findings include large–scale utilization tailings; mass mMTs:mCaCO3:mCaSO4 = 1:0.5:1.0 leads to K2O 3.05 wt.%. Enhancing nutrient efficiency by increasing proportion additives (with 1:0.7:0.4) results in 4.50 wt.%, is 1.5 times national standard. Mechanistically, calcination decomposes feldspar (K–feldspar) into leucite SiO2. CaO derived from reacts SiO2 form calcium silicate, facilitating decomposition water–soluble kaliophilite. Simultaneously, thermal diffusion promotes ion exchange Ca2+ CaSO4 K+ leucite, thereby forming sulfate. However, part this sulfate, along some kaliophilite, volatilizes at high temperatures, contributing loss. Recycling lost back fertilizers enables complete utilization. work establishes robust framework efficiently producing Si–Ca–K–Mg tailings, addressing key challenges retention resource recycling industrial synthesis.
