This ethnobotanical study examines the traditional knowledge and usage patterns of wild plants in western Alps, specifically within Ubaye Bellino Valleys, through a comparative analysis data collected from 1983 (published 1990) to 2024. Our aims assess change plant usage, species diversity, changing roles local traditions Alpine mountain ecosystems. While survey documented medicinal uses centered around pastoralist practices, 2024 highlight notable increase use synanthropic plants, now utilized both medicinally as food. Several such Allium sativum, Artemisia absinthium, Urtica dioica have shown resilience continuity cultural maintaining medicinal, culinary, ritual significance across four decades. The greatest variety (101), number that decreased subsequent studies. 2009 identified 36 not previously recorded 1983, field noted an additional 20 species. highlights economic potential several these alpine areas, Achillea, Artemisia, Verbascum, Veronica, Viola, Polygonum, Bunium, Sorbus spp., which could be for creating new herbal teas, artisanal beers, liqueurs, ice creams, sweets, seasoned food products. Expanding only preserve but also stimulate economies support sustainable development communities. temporal shifts reflect broader cultural, ecological, socio-economic changes, underscoring importance preserving biodiversity amidst ongoing environmental societal shifts. underlines need conserve heritage while adapting evolving landscape region. Future research focus on exploring role sustainability initiatives, including conservation strategies, ecosystem services, community-based tourism continuing document dynamics influencing usage.

Echinophora platyloba DC. (Apiaceae) is recognized for its important secondary metabolites and antifungal agents. To evaluate the effects of macronutrient fertilizers on growth parameters essential oils yield E. platyloba, a study was conducted in 2018 at Shahrekord University, Iran. The treatments included individual combined application nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, along with control groups. results revealed that nitrogen significantly influenced biomass accumulation stems, leaves, inflorescences, phosphorus-treated plants showing notable increase leaf weight. Compared to positive control, phosphorus increased oil by 488%, while enhanced 165%. primary compounds identified (E)-β-ocimene, (E)-sesquilavandolol, β-pinene, percentages ranging between 21.3–32.1%, 14.1–42.0%, 2.0–8.8%, respectively. levels γ-decalactone, spathulenol were found be higher potassium than nitrogen. In contrast, limonene, linalool, geraniol, (E)-sesquilavandulol concentrations greater treatment compared treatments. conclusion, fertilization can substantially other treatments, potentially enhancing production per unit area, which supports farmers’ income helps prevent degradation this species natural habitats.

Peak and mystical experiences can be seen as states of consciousness that exist on a spectrum varying intensity duration. They are often described moments profound joy, ecstasy, awe involve feelings noetic quality, decreased self-salience, heightened interconnectedness. The renewed interest in psychedelics potential tool for therapeutic intervention has been driven by early observations the role peak promoting well-being healing. Numerous studies have shown direct correlation between strength positive, long-lasting psychological outcomes achieved with psychedelic psychotherapy across range mental health conditions, including depression, cancer-related distress, substance use disorders. mechanisms underlying this effect complex neurobiological changes, particularly brain regions associated self-referential processing consciousness. However, medicalization psychedelic-assisted therapy raises critical questions about ability to commodify these transformative states. This prompts reevaluation important underscores their importance achieving benefits attained through emerging approach. As result, further exploration non-pharmacological means inducing benefit is warranted.

Simultaneously, growing this virtual resource expanding collections by researchers from many scholarly domains who increasingly are sampling specimens multiomic (e.g., genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, proteomics, microbiomics). These leading new scientific insights supporting development actions, but they come with a substantial cost: (partial) destruction priceless often irreplaceable specimens, which constitute global heritage should be permanently safeguarded future reference. absence comprehensive set “best practices” destructively leads confusion uncertainty institutions alike risks over-exploitation precious when research executed. Here, we provide best practices aimed reducing uncertainties creating framework sustainably ethically Our recommendations intended two complementary overlapping audiences—users stewards—who together build, use, protect collections.
