Pancreatic cancer continues to pose daily challenges clinicians, radiologists, and researchers. These are encountered at each stage of pancreatic management, including early detection, definite characterization, accurate assessment tumour burden, preoperative planning when surgical resection is possible, prediction aggressiveness, response treatment, detection recurrence. CT imaging the pancreas has made major advances in recent years through innovations research clinical practice. Technical imaging, often combination with biomarkers, hold considerable promise addressing such challenges. Ongoing dual-energy spectral photon-counting computed tomography, new applications artificial intelligence image rendering have led innovative implementations that allow now a more precise diagnosis other diseases affecting this organ. This article aims explore initiatives technological shaping landscape pancreas. By highlighting key contributions diagnostic intelligence, rendering, provides comprehensive overview how these enhancing precision improving outcome patients diseases.

Temporal bone imaging has historically suffered from spatial resolution issues because the of conventional high-resolution computed tomography (CT) is 0.5 mm, while smallest structure middle ear, stapes, very thin components, as 0.19 and small structures, such channels containing nerves arteries, have been beyond its resolution. Photon-counting ultra-high CT allow for improved reduced radiation dose compared to CT. This article provides a technical approach understanding aspects these new techniques an updated description inner well practical normal pathologic anatomy temporal in light techniques.

The temporo-mandibular joint (TMJ) links the mandibular condyle to skull, with an interposed fibrocartilaginous articular disc. TMJ disc has a nonuniform thickness that matches topographic relation between temporal bone and condyle. is stress-distributing load-absorbing structure capable of deforming adapting its shape surfaces. aim this study was analyze morphology human discs through measurements. Forty-four temporomandibular were dissected bilaterally from 22 formalin-fixed postmortem subjects. each manually measured at nine points distributed in grid formed by three zones anteroposterior direction (anterior band, intermediate band posterior band) mediolateral (medial zone, middle zone lateral zone) Microtomographic imaging analysis performed on four samples. postero-middle postero-medial significantly higher than all other points. A significant difference found bands anterior bands. also (p < 0.01) medial 0.01). Disc perforations observed 8 mostly (87.5%) located area. Micro-CT offered new possibility map variations showed very similar results those taken calipers. presented data contribute increasing knowledge specific complex 3D relations parts. They open door pioneering studies could lead clinically applicable techniques future enhance diagnosis associated osteoarthritis.

The purpose of this study was to assess the image quality and dose reduction potential ultra-high resolution (UHR) mode compared with standard mode, both available on a commercial photon-counting detector computed tomography (PCCT) scanner. Images were acquired PCCT phantom using UHR modes at three levels (3/6/12 mGy). Raw data reconstructed soft tissue (Br36) bone (Br68) reconstruction kernels 0.4-mm slice thickness. Noise power spectrum (NPS) task-based transfer function (TTF) calculated noise magnitude, texture (fav), spatial (f50), respectively. Detectability indexes (d') model detection two abdominal lesions for Br36 kernel Br68 kernel. At all levels, magnitude values lower than (mean difference, -18.0 ± 2.6 [standard deviation (SD)] % -33.9 2.3 [SD] Br68). -4.2 0.9 -16.0 1.8 For solid water insert Br36, f50 similar (0.34 0.04 mm-1) (0.33 modes. Intercrystal scatter reduces system sensitivity and spatial resolution, a phenomenon that has been extensively studied in positron emission tomography (PET) systems. However, the issue is even more significant high-energy The purpose of this study to propose practical crosstalk rejection technique demonstrate its applicability photon-counting effect inter-crystal scattering interactions between 60Co γ photons lutetium yttrium oxyorthosilicate (LYSO) scintillator crystals investigated through Monte Carlo simulations conducted using Geant4 toolkit. To suppress phenomenon, field-programmable gate array (FPGA)-based algorithm proposed events, characterized by time window 5 nanoseconds detector sizes one or two. 250 mm Fe steel penetration model used evaluate algorithm, showing improved radiation image quality, particularly with size two, which performs better under low-count-rate conditions. Laboratory testing indicates can enhance (SP) 60–70 when compared existing current integration same settings. suggested method proven effective producing higher-quality images demonstrates good adaptability adapting width according different count rates.
