Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is an endocrine disorder that affects reproductive-aged women worldwide, causing hormonal imbalances and ovarian dysfunction. PCOS metabolic health increases the risk of obesity, insulin resistance, cardiovascular disease, in addition to infertility. This review delves deeper into connections gut microbiota with pathophysiology, particularly its impact on hormone metabolism, inflammation, resistance by way short-chain fatty acids, lipopolysaccharides, gut-brain axis. Studies also show changes processes immune responses are seen subjects, such as Bacteroidetes Firmicutes groups.
