The biomolecular condensates (BCs) formed by proteins through phase separation provide the necessary space and raw materials for orderly progression of cellular activities, on this basis, various membraneless organelles (MLOs) are formed. occurrence eukaryotic is driven multivalent interactions from intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) and/or specific protein/nucleic acid binding domains regulated environmental factors. In plant animal cells, MLOs involved in gene expression regulation, stress response, mitotic control display similar functions mechanisms. contrast, related to reproductive development immune regulation differs significantly between two kingdoms owing their distinct cell structures nutritional patterns. addition, animals plants each exhibit unique protein such as neural light signal response. By comparing similarities differences formation mechanism functional known separation, we elucidated its importance evolution, differentiation, adaptation both plants. significance studying enhancing biological quality life has been further emphasized.

Antibiotic resistance is a global health concern that rapidly spreading among human and animal pathogens. Developing novel antibiotics one of the most significant approaches to surmount antibiotic resistance. Given difficult in identifying targets, cryptic binding sites provide new pockets for compounds design combat However, there exists lack comprehensive analysis discussion on successful utilization overcoming Here, we systematically analyze crucial role neutralizing First, development associated mechanisms are summarized. Then, advantages were discussed. Specific resistant proteins case studies designed inhibitors exemplified. This review provides insight into discovery drug as an approach overcome

Structure-based identification of protein-ligand binding sites plays a crucial role in the initial stages rational drug discovery pipelines. As machine learning methods are increasingly integrated into process, significant challenge arises while training these methods, as labeled data typically derived from ligand-bound structures. Consequently, struggle to detect within proteins where site is concealed absence bound ligand. Here, we explore possibility harnessing protein language models address this issue and compare their performance against state-of-the-art both those specialized cryptic (CBS) detection that not. We show applying pre-trained protein-language relatively straightforward manner enables us surpass CBS prediction.
