The volume of food waste is increasing, and research has highlighted the issues related to its disposal methods. Disposers are emerging as a solution for recycling; they already used in various countries. Only limited portion solid discharge been permitted depending on infrastructure capacity. Although additional administrative costs required adapt existing system include disposers, consumers’ willingness pay (WTP) such changes lacking. Therefore, this study analyzes consumer WTP increase capacity infrastructure. In study, contingent valuation methods employed evaluate WTP, data collected based one-and-one-half-bounded dichotomous choice model with 1155 residents. addition, considers relevant knowledge, satisfaction, expectations service. results show that average sewage rates KRW 6860 (USD 5.2). Covariate models knowledge water quality awareness extent untreated during rainfall CSOs significantly influence WTP. Additionally, satisfaction odor, regarding sewerage fees, concerns about preventing sewer backflow impact However, disposer does not affect regional analysis conducted determine priority improvements. Incheon Seoul, where number complaints was higher than average, showed positive influence. findings have practical implications policymakers, can be policy priorities.

Landfill leachate contains various organic and inorganic substances resulting from the decomposition of solid waste. The treatment this complex mixture is an imperative need for environmental protection. This study used five pilot-scale horizontal subsurface flow (HSF) constructed wetland (CW) units to treat landfill leachate. main objective was evaluation performance CW in removal pollutants. effect porous media (gravel zeolite), plants (common reed cattail), hydraulic residence time (HRT, 8 10 days) were investigated. Two differed HRT, two media, three planting. results showed that planted had higher matter (OM) nitrogen (TKN, NH4-N) compared with unplanted unit. 10-day HRT unit average rates all pollutants 8-day HRT. Finally, zeolite (25%, by volume) fill material OM gravel.
