Three neutral iridium complexes Ir1–Ir3 were synthesized using diphenylphosphoryl-substituted 2-phenylpyridine derivatives as the cyclometalating ligand and picolinic acid auxiliary ligand. They exhibited significant aggregation-induced phosphorescent emission (AIPE) properties in H2O/THF successfully used bi-responsive luminescent sensors for detection of picric (PA) Fe3+ aqueous media. possesses high efficiency selectivity detecting PA Fe3+, with lowest limit at 59 nM 390 Fe3+. Additionally, can achieve naked-eye exhibit excellent potential practical applications complicated environments. The mechanism is attributed to photo-induced electron transfer (PET) Förster resonance energy (FRET), may be explained by PET strong interactions between complexes.
