Although the concept of circular economy as a term was first mentioned in 2015, when "Action Plan for economy" adopted at European level, it is still not possible to speak sufficient knowledge base this area. The Action (COM (2015) 614) can be seen an initial strategic document that sets out concrete and ambitious roadmap implementing Sustainable Development Agenda 2030. However, Green Agreement cannot left context either (COM(2019) 640). It new growth strategy transform EU into fair prosperous society with modern, competitive, resource-efficient economy, net greenhouse gas emissions expected zero by 2050 economic independent resource use. A action plan - Towards cleaner more competitive Europe also 2020 (COM(2020) 98). main priority areas are measures focusing on value chains key products electronics ICT (information communication technologies), batteries vehicles, plastics, textiles, packaging, construction buildings, food, water nutrients covering all links chain from production consumption, repair refurbishment, waste management up return raw materials back their use cycle form secondary materials. transition includes revision directives: waste, packaging landfills, accumulators used accumulators, electrical electronic equipment. In order possible, necessary know amount produced individual sectors, which dealt our article.

In this work, we report the use of spent rooibos tea leaves to fabricate activated carbon and it adsorptively remove toxic Remazol Brilliant Blue R (RBBR) from aqueous solution. The resulting (SRTLAC) was characterized by Brunauer-Emmett-Teller N2 adsorption/desorption for surface area analysis, scanning electron microscopy, thermogravimetric Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Raman X-ray diffraction morphological, functional group crystallinity analyses. A Taguchi design approach employed determine optimal conditions RBBR adsorption onto SRTLAC. Among process variables studied, sorbent dosage, initial concentration, pH predominantly affected removal capacity. maximum 246.5 mg/g attained at highest concentration 120 mg/L, solution 2, dosage 20 mg, agitation time 110 min. analysis variance results showed that contributed most significant percentage (95.33 %) towards uptake, highlighting its considerable impact. data collected various concentrations (20 – mg/L) were modelled using three non-linear regression isotherms kinetic models. Langmuir isotherm model provided fit adsorption, suggesting a monolayer homogenous sorption system with capacity 491.38 mg/g. Meanwhile, pseudo-2nd order models accurately elucidated mechanism. species interacted SRTLAC groups via hydrogen bonding, dipole-dipole interactions, ion-dipole forces. Therefore, presents powerful tool ridding environment dye pollution.

Eco-efficiency is crucial for the European rubber and plastics industry to minimize production costs through effective resource management (e.g., energy management) reduce environmental impacts like greenhouse gases (GHGs) emissions. Circular economy (CE) solutions can support industry’s competitiveness while aligning with sustainability goals regulatory requirements. In present research, we employ a hybrid window data envelopment analysis (WDEA) methodology measure panel eco-efficiency via application of moving average principle. The examination 27 countries as decision-making units (DMUs), in period 2014–2022, led conclusion that 70.33%, showing most DMUs ameliorate their performance regarding pollution control. highest 2014 be monitored Ireland, Switzerland, Norway, Poland, but 2022, only Ireland Switzerland kept positions, whereas Norway dropped 16th position Poland plummeted 24th hierarchical position. Geographical disparities spotted, Northern Western Europe have greater than Eastern Southern Europe. At second level analysis, convergence between under consideration examined using log t regression test club clustering. leads three final clubs where conditional dominates.

Introduction The transition to a circular economy is key pillar of European sustainable development. However, in the current context, shaped by multiple crises and geopolitical conflicts, efficiency resilience this are particular concern. policymakers national authorities must adapt their approaches mitigate risks posed external factors while ensuring progress towards sustainability goals. This study analyzes from 2010 2022, assessing economic environmental variables. Methods employs an econometric approach using panel data 27 EU Member States. A linear regression model with fixed effects applied alongside spectral analysis descriptive statistics examine relationships between private investment, gross value added, municipal waste recycling rates, recyclable material flows, greenhouse gas emissions. These methods allow for in-depth evaluation influencing transition. Results Findings indicate that investment integration materials significantly enhance economy. varies across States due regional disparities, inadequate infrastructure, inefficient management. High-emission countries face greater challenges achieving targets, demonstrating need tailored resilient policy measures. Discussion results highlight necessity public policies promote attractiveness sectors, reduce improve management infrastructure. Additionally, emphasizes importance coordinated region-specific accelerate By integrating seasonal analyses, research contributes literature offering nuanced understanding affecting progress. insights valuable supranational developing effective strategies at level.

Introduction The circular economy (CE) has emerged as a key paradigm for promoting sustainable economic development by enhancing resource efficiency, minimizing waste, and reducing environmental harm. Despite its widespread adoption in policy frameworks, the practical implementation efficiency of CE strategies across countries remain insufficiently evaluated. Methods This study employs methodological approach based on Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to assess territorial 27 European Union (EU) countries. A composite indicator was constructed using relevant metrics obtained from Eurostat, enabling comparative analysis national performance achieving circularity. Results findings reveal significant variation among EU Netherlands, Ireland, Sweden demonstrate leading performance, while such Bulgaria Cyprus show considerable room improvement. Overall, 20 out were found be inefficient implementing practices. moderate positive correlation also identified between level countries’ development. Discussion results highlight need targeted interventions enhance particularly lower-performing proposed DEA-based framework provides valuable tool benchmarking informing evidence-based policymaking. By identifying leaders laggards, contributes understanding dynamics supports advancement more effective strategies.
