As a comprehensive energy transition reform strategy, China's new demonstration city (NEDC) pilot policy aims to accelerate the transformation from fossil fuel-based system more sustainable system. Employing unique data on firms' consumption National Tax Survey Database, this paper investigates how NEDC affects utilization efficiency based difference-in-differences model. We observe that construction reduces intensity (ECI) in cities. After using instrumental variable approach deal with endogeneity problems, conclusions still hold. The mechanism analysis reveals decrease ECI is driven by offering tax incentives enterprises and prompting them pursue technological innovation. Heterogeneity shows negative impact prominent for SOEs high-energy-consuming enterprises; we also effect pronounced firms resource-based cities old-industrial-based Our results provide implications initiating policies other countries improve performance.

Abstract The digital economy is an essential engine of the innovation-driven development strategy and plays a valuable role in promoting high-quality regional economy. Based on panel data 286 cities mainland China with help strategic plans issued by local governments as quasi-natural experiment, we use multi-temporal double-difference (DID) method to examine impact urban innovation level. Findings show that can significantly improve After series robustness tests, such parallel trend test, updating sample period, repeated placebo innovation-driving effect generated remains significant. Abstract Inclusive finance has the potential to impact CO 2 emissions resulting from energy activities by influencing regional economic behavior. To explore this relationship, research makes use of panel data covering 30 Chinese provinces between 2004 and 2017. Through utilization empirical methods, including dynamic model, DIFF-GMM mediating effect moderating study examines direction mechanisms influence financial inclusion on various aspects in China. The findings demonstrate that development inclusive a significant emissions, characterized an rebound effect. This is primarily observed through notable increases total per capita coupled with reduction emission efficiency. Additionally, exhibits certain capacity mitigate addressing poverty. However, mitigating falls short fully offsetting overall finance. Moreover, reveals market regulation weakens positive relationship emissions. Furthermore, spatial spillover effect, wherein it serves inhibit neighboring regions.
