Fisheries contribute significantly to the global economy while playing a crucial role in environmental conservation, food security, and socio-economic development. Analyzing operational efficiency of fisheries industry not only enhances its economic social benefits but strengthens sector’s capacity for sustainable growth. This study initially evaluates Chinese fishery-listed companies using DEA-BCC model Malmquist index, both statically dynamically, from 2012 2022. It then investigates impact digital transformation on these Tobit regression model. The findings reveal that mean values comprehensive, technical, scale firms are below 1, with exhibiting particularly low under static conditions. Additionally, during observation period, companies’ average total factor productivity decreased by 0.1% annually compared base period. From dynamic perspective, decline can primarily be attributed reduced technical resulting efficiency. Ultimately, it reasonably concluded listed fishing enhanced implementing transformation. underscores potential digitalization as critical advancing sector, facilitating modernization, enabling intelligent upgrading across industry.

Achieving marine sustainable development goals requires improving the quality of economy. In this study, we constructed a multi-dimensional evaluation index system to quantify high-quality economy (HDME) and digital for China’s 11 coastal regions between 2012 2020, systematically explored mechanisms economy, industrial structure upgrading, We further empirically analyzed influence upgrading on HDME by using static dynamic spatial Durbin model threshold model. found that improved local neighboring regions, sub-dimensional indicators had significant heterogeneous effect. The only positively affected in areas. Furthermore, also synergistic effects which mainly depended infrastructure industrialization. There existed industrialization thresholds within affecting HDME. Our results provide new insights green industry from broader technical perspective age. Governments should recognize spillover different implement policies considering their impacts achieve goals.

Mariculture plays a crucial role in the marine industry, holding significant importance for global food provision, coastal economic growth, and ecological preservation. However, mariculture encounters challenges such as resource scarcity, environmental contamination, market instabilities. The broad adoption of digital technology presents valuable growth prospects mariculture. Employing SBM-GML model, this study assesses green total factor productivity across ten provinces China from 2006 to 2022 investigates influence economy policies on sector’s productivity. results reveal an overall fluctuating upward trend Chinese mariculture, ranging between 0.975 1.074, with variations technical efficiency surpassing those technological progress. This underscores that enhancing China’s sector primarily hinges efficiency. Noteworthy regional disparities point imbalance advancement. Additionally, illustrates favorable impact strategies productivity, varying effects observed diverse regions. These findings provide empirical support policy recommendations which will help government authorities formulate implement effective policies, fostering transformation amid evolving landscape.
