The ratio of the lengths 2nd and 4th fingers (2D:4D) is a putative marker for prenatal gonadal hormone signaling has been linked to human sexual orientation. Digit ratio (2D:4D), a proxy of prenatal testosterone exposure, is putative marker physical fitness. No study has comprehensively synthesized studies examining associations between 2D:4D and cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF).
